Why is multiplying by 7 wrong?
The "one dog year = 7 human years" rule is an inaccurate simplification. Dogs mature very quickly in their first years — a 1-year-old dog is already sexually mature, equivalent to around 31 human years — and then age more slowly. A 2019 study from the University of California proposed a logarithmic formula based on epigenetic changes in DNA.
